Tip Toe, Tip Toe

If you are the mother of a little girl you may just have a Dora song stuck in your head now...sorry for that :)

For the past month we have had a paper bag containing 1 pink leotard, 1 pair of pink tights, and 1 pair of pink leather ballet shoes hanging on the wall just out of reach of 1 very excited three year old. Yesterday the bag finally came down and much rejoicing was heard throughout the land...

Her clothes are all a bit too big, but at least they should last the year. Bunny's first ballet class consisted of stretching like a cat, introducing themselves, learning to point and flex...and in general a lot of circle time. My little princess spent the whole stretching time asking her teachers if she could tip toe. They allowed her to tip toe around the circle with her hands on her hips first and she danced like a pro! I don't think I've ever seen her prance like that before...but I guess it is easier to walk on your toes on the floor versus the balance beam lol. Now if anyone has any tips on how to keep baby fine hair back in a pony tail I would much appreciate it! Have great weekend! :)  much ♥

Leotard Examples

We signed Bunny up for gymnastics this Fall and I was shocked at the sticker price of the leotards! Honestly, you can get a plain old cotton one from Walmart, Target, or even Old Navy. But in my experience they pill alot and the kids don't get super excited about them. So....what to do? Sew them myself of course!
I grabbed a pattern from my local Hancock Fabrics store and went to work on adjusting the pattern for my long torso/no bum/has to have pink in at least one leotard Bunny. And then I just had fun on a couple. The following examples are all sleeveless, but my new patterns will include short and long sleeves as well as different neck shapes if you'd like something entirely different.

Have you entered the leotard give away yet? Go to THIS POST and leave a comment. That's it! And yes I will gladly make a matching pair of biker or short shorts for your custom leotard :)

My Bunny's leotards - maybe these will give you some ideas!
